President, Action Ministries Houston
Gregory W. Berg is a Vice President and Financial Advisor LPL Financial in Houston TX. Prior to that, he was a First Vice President, Wealth Management Advisor, and Portfolio Manager with Bank of America/Merrill Lynch for 18 years. He was a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley from 1998 to 2005.
He works with High-net-worth families, professionals, and business owners who seek wealth preservation strategies with a global perspective to their investment and risk management. He desires to know the goals, dreams, and aspirations of his clients so a course of action can be planned to meet the client’s goals. As a CRPC® designee, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor®, Mr. Berg has a passion for planning to meet the cash flow needs of today’s retiree. It goes beyond accumulating wealth; it deals with creating an income stream to meet the needs of his clients upon retirement. As a Certified Kingdom Advisor designee, he utilizes Christian based values in his advice and guidance.
Gregory graduated from Oral Roberts University with a BA in Biblical Literature cum laude and a Master of Divinity degree with High Honors. He served his university for nine years on the ORU Alumni Board of Directors. He held positions of treasurer and of secretary. Additionally, he served on the Board of Directors of the ORU Alumni Foundation. He continues to be a member of the ORU President’s Circle and the ORU Golden Eagle Champions Club. While a student, he served on three mission trips.
Greg is a passionate pursuer of the presence of God. He has served in men’s ministry as a representative of Christian Men’s Network since 2009 when he became a member of the Brotherhood of Commissioned men. He also served as a chapter president for FGBMFI. Prior to that, he served on the board of Max Man Houston, an outreach to men in the Houston area.
He has traveled around the world for over 20 years sharing the Word of God with men and helping them grow in their faith. He has preached, taught, and conducted workshops in a variety of settings, including prisons, homeless shelter, Bible study groups, and churches. He also councils and mentors men in one-on-one settings. As a gifted speaker, he connects with men on a personal level. He is particularly passionate about helping men to grow in their faith and to live lives that are honoring to God. He believes a stronger man builds a stronger family; a stronger family builds a stronger church; a stronger church builds a stronger community; and a stronger community builds a stronger nation – but it begins with building a stronger man! The number one leading cause of poverty is the lack of a father in the home (80% of the families in inner cities in America and around the world).
Greg also serves on the Board of Directors of Well Versed founded by Dr. Jim and Rosemary Schindler Garlow. Well Versed is “bringing biblical principles of governance to government leaders and the people who elect them.” They sponsor the World Prayer Network, a fellowship of believers around the world that meet online every Sunday and Wednesday night. They sponsor the ministry of Well Versed in the US Capitol, The United Nations in New York and the Knesset in Jerusalem Israel. They hosted the National Gathering for Prayer & Repentance in 2023 at the Museum of the Bible.
He is a graduate of Dr. Mark Rutland’s National Institute of Christian Leadership. He also graduated from the Houston FBI Citizen’s Academy, the Houston DEA Citizen’s Academy, and the Houston ATF Citizen’s Academy. He has attended the last two FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association leadership conferences.
Greg has traveled to twenty-five countries. He has served as elder, small group leader, men’s ministry leader, Sunday School teacher, and lay minister. He is an Eagle Scout. He and his wife of thirty years, Rome, enjoy traveling and spending time with their daughter and granddaughter.

Mark S. Berg, LPC-S, CEAP
EAP Director
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
Vice President, Action Ministries Houston
Mark began his career as a counselor and employee assistance professional in 1987 and is currently the Director of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is a licensed professional counselor – supervisor level (LPC-S), certified as an employee assistance professional (CEAP), and also has substance abuse related certification (SAP). Mark is a certified coach and a CoachRice graduate. He managed an EAP in the airline industry for 8 years for ExpressJet Airlines and also provided related services to local hospitals. His professional expertise includes assisting organizations and their employees after critical incidents and disasters. He serves as the National Clinical Director of the Critical Incident Response Program for ALPA. He still consults with the airline industry surrounding substance use, mental health challenges, and critical incident response. He is a trainer through ICISF (International Critical Incident Stress Foundation) for Group CISM and Advanced Group CISM and specializes in Aviation but also instructs for First Responders and Law Enforcement. Mark is a member and current president of IAEAPE (International Association of Employee Professional in Education) and the past president. He is a long term member of EAPA and has served on the board of the Houston Chapter of EAPA as the Vice President and President. He is a member of Workplace Suicide Prevention Association. Mark also provided clinical services to families, children, and regularly consulted with local schools and ran a school based clinic in Chambers County, Texas.

Tim S. Berg
B.S. in Education Baylor University
Second Vice-President, Action Ministries Houston, Inc.
Tim is a retired educator and coach with over 30 years of experience teaching in Texas. He has had students compete at the state level in four different sports claiming multiple titles. In 2007, he was awarded the Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Since his teenage years, Tim has traveled across the United States, Europe, Russia, and Central America to do mission work. In 1992, he served on the Chaplain Committee for the Olympics in Barcelona. He has also had multiple opportunities to serve as the youth minister in several churches. He is an Ordained Baptist Deacon who is actively involved in his church.
Tim has served on the Board of Directors since the beginning of the ministry.

Patricia A. Berg
Education
Secretary/Treasurer – Founder, Action Ministries Houston, Inc.
Pat along with her husband Gordon Co-Founded Action Ministries Houston, Inc. She has served as the Secretary/Treasurer since its inception. She is also a former Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs at Baylor College of Medicine.
Pat is amazed by the work Action Ministries Houston, Inc. has accomplished in its “30 years of service”. She is filled with pride by the new direction and the family’s continued dedication to carrying on the legacy of the ministry. One of her favorite projects is the annual “Shoes for Souls” drive.
